How We Do IT

Heartwood gates specializes in a Mahogany species called Sapele. It is a beautiful, sustainably sourced hardwood that holds up to the elements just like redwood and cedar. All of our gates are built like a solid hardwood front door to stay sturdy and mitigate the volatility of wood. We use a Mortise and Tenon construction for our frames and solid panels, staying true to our traditional woodworking roots. Despite our love for the tried and true methods of traditional woodworking, we utilize a CNC machine to cut our arches smoothly and allow us to deliver you custom engravings. Our versatility, dedication to detail, and collaboration with the premier hardware and opener companies in the United States have allowed us to become the preeminent custom Gate and Fence company in Northern California.
